"Mental Health Support Person" Program

The NGO "Psychability" plans to launch the "heart" of psychiatric rehabilitation – the "Mental Health Support Worker" program.

A Mental Health Support Worker is a specialist who provides comprehensive, individualized support to a person with a mental health condition. This service operates successfully in developed countries under the name "Case Manager."

As a result of mental health conditions, a person may experience, among other things, disruptions in thinking, withdrawal, and a desire to isolate themselves from society, friends, and loved ones. The support worker is intended to be a connecting link between society and the person with a mental health condition.

Their primary task is to establish a trusting relationship with the individual. This forms the basis for their subsequent collaboration, within which the support worker helps the client regain independence and improve their quality of life.

The program launch is scheduled for September 2025. Currently, the organization is seeking funding sources to provide the service free of charge to 15 clients. Interested donor organizations, philanthropists, and sponsors may contact the Head of the Board of NGO "Psychability," Lidiia Martynova, by phone at (044) 337-00-10.

The free program includes:

• initial interview (introduction, establishing contact, collecting biopsychosocial history);

• thorough assessment of stated and identified needs;

• development of a rehabilitation plan;

• monthly monitoring of the rehabilitation plan's implementation and consultation on its execution;

• one specialist consultation (psychiatrist, psychologist, occupational therapist, or social worker) upon the support worker's recommendation.
