  • How do I prepare for a visit to a psychiatrist?

An appointment with a psychiatrist is no different from an appointment with any other doctor. At your first visit, you will have a dialogue with your doctor, answering their questions. A psychiatrist may also ask you to complete simple tasks or take tests to clarify your symptoms.

To prepare, bring your medical record and research results that you consider relevant and important. If you have any questions for a psychiatrist, we recommend that you write them down on paper or in notes on your phone so that you don't forget anything.

  • What should I do if I feel bad, but there are no symptoms of a mental disorder?

First, try to rest and recover. Set aside time for healthy sleep and moderate physical activity, and adjust your diet. It is these simple things that form the foundation of our mental health.

Secondly, communicate with your loved ones. Tell them what's bothering you and ask for support. If you don't have this option, you can call a psychological support hotline or search for topical communities on the Internet.

Psychologists and psychotherapists are similar yet somewhat distinct professions. The main difference lies in the specifics of their activities.

A psychologist is a specialist who studies behavior, thinking, emotions, and mental processes. They explore, analyze, and evaluate the psychological aspects of life.

A psychotherapist is a psychologist who has acquired additional specialization and skills in applying psychotherapeutic techniques. They provide psychological support and therapeutic services to people who need help overcoming emotional and psychological problems. Psychotherapists usually specialize in specific approaches or areas of psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, family therapy, and so on.

So, if you need general psychological counseling, advice, or an assessment of your psychological state, contact a psychologist. However, if you are experiencing specific emotional difficulties or in need of intensive support, a psychotherapist can provide appropriate help.
