A five year journey

It's been five years since July 5, 2019. The public organization "PSYCHABILITY" was registered. Five years is a century when you are no longer a child, but you do not have the maturity to live up to your age. And for a public organization, this is the age when you not only made your first steps in society, but also declared yourself as a professional, with whose opinion people rejoice. So, over these years there have been many harms, but also victories. Let's remember our whole path today. We started getting to know the Kyiv community in August 2019. In the offices of the Kyiv City Council, at meetings against the abolition of psychiatry, letters were written from the President of Ukraine to the director of the Kyiv NCP "KL "PSYCHIATRIA" with the aim of opposing the closure of the unique Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of People with Mental Disorders with a 20-year track record of successful work. We were supported by the President of the Association of Psychiatrists of Ukraine, Mr. Gluzman S.F. The State Administration systematically tried to protect rights of people with mental disorders to receive quality and timely treatment, to be able to satisfy their needs in rehabilitation and employment. Unfortunately, the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine and the lack of state funding became the reason for the reformatting of the Center's work and the closure of most rehabilitation programs. But within the borders of our organization we saved The most valuable thing is that the Center's members receive the following benefits today:

1. for the assistance of a member the organization has found a sponsor to implement our statutory activities - the NGO "Ukrainian Strategy of Zelinsky", due to which recruitment for several rehabilitation programs will begin in September 2024; 2. We have two creative projects in our portfolio - the creation of the film "From the Closed Circle" and an advocacy campaign within the framework of the Z.N.A.M.I. project. creation of the service "Assistant to a person with mental disorders"; 3. in September 2024. The work is being updated with education School for relatives of people with mental disorders; 4. in 2022 With the help of the organization's members, a self-help group for people with mental disorders was revived; 5. The partners of the organization were public organizations and unions - the NGO "APU", the BF "Brilliant Mind", the BGO "For Perfect Psychiatry", the BGO "BF "Ukrainian Social Defense", the GS "League of the Strong", as well as state services Kyiv City Social Services Center and Right Bank Secondary Free Legal Aid in Kyiv;
