Program "Assistant for a person with a mental disorder"
The NGO "Psychability" plans to launch the "heart" of psychiatric rehabilitation — the program "Assistant for a person with a mental disorder".
An assistant for a person with a mental disorder is a specialist who provides comprehensive individual support to a person with a mental disorder. A similar service is successfully operating in developed countries under the name "Case Manager".
As a result of mental disorders, a person's thinking, in particular, is disturbed. They become withdrawn and want to isolate themselves from society, friends, and loved ones. The role of the Assistant is to be a connecting link between society and a person with a mental disorder. His primary task is to create a trusting contact with a person with a mental disorder. This is the basis for their further cooperation, within which the Assistant helps them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
The program is planned to launch in September 2025. Funds are currently being sought so that 15 clients can receive this service free of charge. Interested donor organizations, sponsors, and philanthropists can contact the Chairman of the Board of the NGO "Psychability", Lidiia Martynova, at 044-337-00-10
