The capital's system of assistance to people with mental disorders will require changes

We are pleased to announce that our investigation within the framework of the advocacy campaign for the work of “Helper of an Individual with Mental Disorders” has been completed! It is likely that the investigation was used to determine the extent to which people with mental disorders were satisfied with the medical and social services provided to the community. As we found out, the conclusions are rather indifferent.

81% of our respondents rated the difficulty of getting rid of services as very low or not getting rid of necessary services in the future. According to the Department of Social Policy and the Department of Health Protection in the city of Kiev, the city has critically few specialized services for people with mental disorders. It is important for actual services to be of an observant nature, so that they do not interfere with the development of independence of individuals with mental disorders and/or their acquisition of life in society.

With our help, we were able to treat 61 people of age with mental disorders and suffering from 3 deaths or more. The survey showed that the majority of respondents gave low ratings to their professional skills and independence in everyday life, earnings and the search for medical services. At the same time, the stench will rarely bother you, try to paint your skills. This fact is explained by the fact that most mental disorders often lead to significant disruptions in the emotional-volitional sphere of a person.

Our main problem is in the corrupted service “Assistant of a person with mental disorders.” The role of such a assistant or assistant first of all is to ensure a successful life between marriage and especially with mental disorders. In the future, this service may become available to various categories of people in difficult living conditions, including helping veterans and veterans return to civilian life.
