Dealing with changes in society on your own is not easy. One of the goals of the League of the Strong is to support public organizations that work for people with disabilities in their activities and to support their development in various ways. One of them is grant support within the framework of the Z.N.A.M.I project. We also tell you more about initiatives that will create an accessible and inclusive environment in Ukraine, and also strengthen the voice of women in making changes 👇
🔸 Since 2021, the public organization Epiprosvita has been helping people with epilepsy, disabilities and related diseases. The organization advocates for the introduction of Frisium into the national drug list – a vital drug for many patients with epilepsy and related diseases. 🔸 The public organization "Psychabilities" is active in 2019 and is engaged in the rehabilitation of people with mental disorders. Within the framework of the project "Z.N.A.M.I." the team advocates the creation of a social and medical service "Helper of a person with mental disorders", which will provide individual support to persons with mental disorders and their families in social and labor adaptation, social rehabilitation and physical conductors.
🔸 GO Unforgettable helps people with dementia receive quality assistance, support and legal advice The team aims to conduct the first national campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to increase awareness of dementia in Ukraine. This will allow us to learn more about the risk factors for the development of dementia, as well as the initial symptoms. This will help improve the quality of life of those who are already ill or are in a risk zone. 🔸 GO Vidchuy is the founder of the League of the Strong union. The organization works to help people with hearing impairments. The goal of her advocacy campaign is to advocate for effective changes to the laws governing hearing screening in children aged 3 to 6 years and to inform parents and healthcare professionals about the importance of this procedure for the early detection of hearing loss. However, in reality, mechanisms for ensuring screening of children's hearing are not prescribed and are not implemented accordingly. Therefore, children who, for various reasons, have not been diagnosed with hearing loss in the home, fall “off the radar”, and therefore diagnosis is very difficult, which sometimes complicates hearing aid treatment and further rehabilitation. 🖇About other public organizations that became winners of the grant competition within the framework of the “Z.N.A.M.I.” project and their advocacy campaigns – in the following posts. 📌The Z.N.A.M.I. project is implemented with technical support from UN Women Ukraine and with funding from the UN Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).
