During the briefing on June 29, 2024, our partners from the Public Organization "Psychability" presented the results of a survey of the level of satisfaction of Kyiv men and women with mental disorders with the social and medical services available to them. The reports indicated an increase in the number of requests for psychiatric care almost 3.5 times compared to 2023, which only according to official data in 2024 amounts to more than 500,000 people.

The purpose of the public presentation of the project "Advocacy campaign for the creation of the service "Assistant for a person with a mental disorder", which is carried out within the framework of the project "KNOW - we change, teach, advocate, mentor inclusively" was the need to highlight and bring to the attention of the local authorities of Kyiv the needs of people with mental disorders on the way to barrier-free.

The task of the project itself is the need to obtain a basis for making a decision by the authorities of the city of Kyiv regarding the implementation of the service "Assistant for a person with a mental disorder", which is necessary to improve the quality of life

this vulnerable population group.

The project group conducted in-depth interviews, where the research criteria were:

A — Subjective assessment by a person with mental disorders of their independent living skills

B — Satisfaction of a person with mental disorders with his skills in a certain area of ​​life

B — Evaluation of the activity of a person with mental disorders in searching and receiving
